Loano is the ideal place for both summer and winter holidays, has a magnificent marina and is full of sports fields to host national and international events.
The town has developed around the Doria Castle and the Medieval Village without altering its key original characteristics.
You can still walk along the characteristic ‘caruggi’, or narrow streets between long rows of houses, and occasionally come across a small square.
Loano was declared the ‘European City of Sport‘ by the European Union for its sports facilities. It has with tennis courts, a football pitch and a bowling alley.
Inside the sports centre, Palazzetto dello Sport, there are basketball and volleyball courts, two indoor swimming pools, a martial arts gymnasium, a water slide and an outdoor Olympic swimming pool. The city is host to national and international sporting events.
